June update: potato plant has been demolished by slugs.....hmm am gonna have to get salt and beer!
Beans beans beans
Last year the household was successful on growing beans using water collected in water butts. We had long beans and mange tout throughout the summer. In fact we had so many, we were giving them away as house presents! Unfortunately our tomatoes did not do so well.
This year we are going to be more ambitious. The vegetable garden has been expanded to include spinach; rocket; broccoli; and garlic; and will have another attempt at growing tomatoes.
Hope to be bringing home less packaging from purchasing vegetables!
