What is your office paper? 

I look around me in my house and see that MOST of my paper waste is junk mail on nice glossy paper.  It is uncommon currently at the time of writing this page that companies do not like using recycled paper.  Am having an issue understanding this stigma against recycled paper as recycled paper comes in various qualities.  Let's have a quick look.

Downside:

• More chemicals are required to process recycled paper (strip it of inks, make it white, etc) and fibre needs to be reintroduced to help it retain some sturdiness
• Due to waste water treatment and the additional chemical treatments to make a quality paper, it costs more which should give it more snob value!

Benefits

• Less trees are cut down.  So more trees for the environment
• When the paper has been recycled too many times we can use it towards making biofuels

Conclusions

So thoughts are we should have some type of paper legislation:

• All companies should be made to use recycled paper and be made to recycle paper appropriately
• All financial companies sending out statements should be made to use recycled paper
• All companies sending out catalogues and junk mail should be made to use recycled paper.  They should be reported and fined if they use any other type of paper!
